Frequently Asked Questions
Q. How can I find out more information about property X?
A. We publish all the information we have on our site. Unfortunately in some cases we are unable to show links through to the estate agent's website. These listings can normally be found by searching on other property sites.
Q. Can I arrange a viewing of property X?
A. Unfortunately we cannot arrange viewings of any of the properties shown on the site. To arrange a viewing you will need to contact the estate agents directly. In most cases a link to the estate agents website is provided.
Q. Who runs the site?
A. The site owner is anonymous and runs the site in their spare time.
Q. Is the information on the site 100% accurate?
A. The information on the site is as accurate as we can make it, but it will never be 100% guaranteed correct. Firstly, the information is only as good as the data we receive, which does sometimes contain errors such as typing errors, incorrect addresses, incorrect prices and so on. Secondly, the site is not perfect, and compromises have been made to keep the site fast and cheap to run. This can sometimes mean that errors creep in, but these are very rare and in our experience the site is correct 99% of the time.
Q. Does the site cover every reduced property in the UK?
A. Unfortunately not. There are several reasons for this. Some estate agents aren't keen for their listings to be on the site, and have requested not to be featured. Added to this, listings are often taken off the market and put back on again with a different agent later on, at a reduced price. We cannot currently track the price changes in listings like these.
Q. I know about a property in my area that has been reduced in price, but it's not on your site.
A. Great! Extra information is always helpful. Please leave a message in the comments section for the relevant page (usually the page for the postcode that the property is in) and we will ensure others can see it.
Q. I found a mistake in listing X!
A. As mentioned above, mistakes do sometimes creep in. If you know the correct information, or can give more details about one of the listings on sale, please leave a message in the comments section for that listing, and we will ensure it appears on the site.
Q. Can you find me a cheap house in location X?
A. Unfortunately we don't have time to help with specific requests (as we are not estate agents!), but feel free to browse the site and see what you can find!
Q. My house is for sale, can I list it on your website?
A. Unfortunately we are unable to take listings directly from individuals. We are happy for people to leave comments on the relavant pages of the site (e.g. postcode search results) giving details of the house they have up for sale, and contact information, if they wish to do so.
Q. Do you have any statistics on how many price cuts there have been, or how the market is performing generally?
A. We do not currently publish any statistics, but we are planning to do so in the future, so watch this space.
Q. Why was the site started?
A. The site was originally started as a private effort to gather information on the property market. It turned out that the information gathered was so interesting that it was worth putting up on a public website!
Q. Has the site had any press coverage?
